About this site
This is a personal interest site started by Josh Lewis, a research analyst at Tulane University in New Orleans. My research focuses on the linkages between social and ecological systems. New Orleans is an engaging context to explore these dynamics. Currently, I conduct research on a massive ecological restoration project east of metro New Orleans that, if funded, will transform the city’s eastern wetlands – disrupting hydrologies, realigning ecosystems, and altering the type and distribution of natural resources. My work also has a strong international/comparative component. I’ve had the privilege to participate in study trips to China and South Africa over the past two years, and I begin my PhD studies in Natural Resource Management at the Stockholm Resilience Centre in the Spring of 2011. This blog is all encompassing, I’m a musician and avid reader in addition to my academic interests, so posts will be diverse. Contact: firstname.lastname@example.org.
